For decades, gambling operators have shaped the public conversation around gambling. Together, we’re making sure Americans hear the other side of the story.
We educate the public, lead public awareness campaigns, host a national conference, and produce credible research that policymakers, journalists, and citizens can use to reveal the truth behind predatory gambling.
We connect and strengthen a nationwide network of citizens, researchers, recovery advocates, faith leaders, public health experts, attorneys, partner organizations, and community leaders working to reduce gambling-related harm in all 50 states.
When communities face casino expansion or harmful gambling legislation, they don’t have to start from scratch—we help them learn from others who have fought similar battles, connect them with experts, and access trusted research and strategic guidance.
We work with policymakers, community leaders, researchers, and coalition partners to advance practical, evidence-based policies that better protect families and communities from gambling-related harm.
From legislative testimony and policy briefings to original research and model reforms, SPG helps decision-makers understand the real costs of commercialized gambling and the solutions available to reduce its harms.
We use one of the most widely used nonprofit donation platforms, Givebutter, to process your donation.
At checkout, Givebutter may automatically suggest an optional tip to support their platform.
This tip does not support Stop Predatory Gambling and is completely optional. If you prefer, you can reduce it to $0 using the arrows on the last page of the donation process. Declining the tip does not reduce your gift to SPG.
As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization, we take very seriously the responsibility that our supporters entrust in us when they invest time and resources in our organization.
Thrift, which means being a wise and careful manager of one’s resources – the opposite of gambling – is a core value of our network. More than 90 cents of every dollar raised is spent directly on our mission to reveal the truth behind commercialized gambling to advocate for those who have suffered harm, to prevent more victims, and to champion policy reforms that stop predatory gambling.
